You have been on record ndugu Rais wa Jamhuri ya Muungano wa Tanzania Mheshimiwa Dr. John Pombe Magufuli in regard to the action you have taken in the fight against Covid-19.

Tanzania President John Pombe Magufuli

Contrary to the rest of the world, including your  East African neighbours who have issued strict guidelines and enforced curfews and lockdown, you have refused to take this path in your country because of your love for the walala hoi who would suffer a lot if you were to order a lockdown or curfew.

In this regard Mr. President, you are right because even for us here in Kenya, we are currently suffering because of the directives issued by our government.

However, we are willing to sacrifice and abide by the move taken by our government because we all agree that it is the only way to fight the spread of this pandemic.

Now the statistics coming from your country are very alarming. Within a short span, figures in Tanzania have risen seven fold to over 250. Kenya, with the lockdown and curfew has recorded an increase in numbers to over 300. ‘Ndugu’ Magufuli, you can imagine the numbers likely to increase in Tanzanian and how many people could possibly succumb to this novel coronavirus!

We admire your pride and naationalism, but ‘Ndugu’ Magufuli, but this pandemic has no respect for neither places of worship, borders nor Cultures. It has no rules of engagement and does not spare elderly, women and Children. It is not afraid of super powers and has no sympathy with the wretched of the earth and it enjoys being confronted.

Mr. President, unless you have a special strategy or  secret weapon we are not aware of, please ‘Ndugu’ Magufuli, do not take lightly the devastating effects of Covid-19. You are blindly endangering the Tanzanian populace. Do not dilute your legacy as the champion of fundamental rights of the poor. Be counted at this urgent hour of need by  your citizens.

Abushiri let down the Tanzanian freedom fighters in the Maji Maji rebellion against the Germans. Do not allow your name to be recorded in the history books of disappointment and  naked inertia, just like Abushiri

  • Thank you for posting this. I really hope it helps. I already postponed a trip to Tanzania and hope I will be able to go in the Fall. I was really looking forward to this trip but I hope it won’t cost me my life! I don’t want to have to permanently cancel!!
