Mutula Kilonzo Jr and Kipchumba Murkomen shine in Senate

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr is the best performing senator in the country. He floored his counterparts in Senate after getting a mean score of 66.4 percent. This is according to an opinion poll by research firm Infotrak. The research conducted between November 2019 and January 2020 indicates. It ranked the senators based on their performance both in the House and in their counties.

The Makueni lawmaker was followed closely by his Elgeyo-Marakwet counterpart Kipchumba Murkomen who, according to the poll, earned a mean score of 58.8 percent, with Steve Lelengwe of Samburu County following at position three with an average score of 57.2 percent.

MCAs’ performance

The survey also ranked members of county assemblies (MCAs) with those in Makueni and Embu counties topping the list with an average score of 54.2 percent.  MCAs in Baringo and Vihiga counties both tied at position two with an average score of 51.5 percent. Nyeri MCAs came at number four with an average score of 50.5 percent.

In terms of the overall performance of county assemblies, Makueni County Assembly topped the list with 58.5 percent, followed by Kwale (57.4 percent) while West Pokot came third (54.6 percent).
